DIRECTOR, PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Dan Norwood graduated from J Sargent Reynolds Community College in 2000 with an AAS – Associates Degree in Architectural/ Industrial Design. He has strong knowledge of ADA Accessibility codes and has managed projects of every size and difficulty. Dan is now a Senior Project Manager at Beacon Bay. He has 13 years of experience working in the hotel industry for an award winning Architecture & Interior Design firm before joining the Beacon Bay family. In 2007 Dan took over management of the Select Service Design Team. During his tenure, the team successfully completed over 350 hotel projects in 31 states, including projects in Ontario, Canada. For 16 years Dan worked at Thomas Hamilton & Associates as a Project Manager. He has been praised for his dedication and quality of work. Dan brings a lot of knowledge to Beacon Bay with the experience he gained at Thomas Hamilton & Associates, which he will apply as a Senior Project Manager

Marriott Courtyard Gen 1 Exterior Remodels
Beacon Bay Project Manager for the Courtyard Herndon VA, capital renovation project. Scope of work included converting the pool to a meeting and renovations to the, public space as well as exterior façade. Dan worked with the design team to reduce the cost and construction time of the overall project. Dan visited the site to assess the condition of the building, and the areas included in the scope of work. Dan is responsible for soliciting bid packages from contractors, facilitating pre-bid meetings, submitting finals, as well as project management for the length of the renovation. As the different project areas reach completion from the general contractor’s scope of work, Dan is responsible as the Owner’s Representative, to punch the rooms with Brand, Architect and Design team professionals, and to provide quality control and quality assurance.
Hyatt Place, Portfolio Renovations, US
Dan’s vast experience includes the renovation and construction of the multiple Hyatt Place properties throughout the US, which scope includes corridor carpet replacement and select sofa replacement. Serving as the owner’s representative, Dan is responsible for overseeing all construction manager related activities from coordinating contractors, vendors and specialty trades, as well as reviewing budgets, controlling construction schedule, RFI, submittal review, and project management.
